I am an Airforce wife stationed in Germany. I have two very sweet and rambunctious boys of my own. I became a mom at a young age, almost seven years ago. The struggles I felt while transitioning to a mom for the first time seemed daunting to say the least. There was no instruction manual for how to be a mom. I constantly questioned if I was doing things right or if I would ever be good enough as a mom. And then.... the breastfeeding issues started. My story is just one of thousands of very similar stories. I had no education on how to feed this baby during my pregnancy. I knew literally nothing. My baby wasn't latching great. I had a lot of pain with nursing. I was so worried if he was getting enough breastmilk. Above my own concerns, there was no one around me that I could go to for help. It was isolating. I felt helpless. This lack of accessibility of support for moms is EXACTLY what ignited my fire. This is where my passion began. I knew I wanted to truly be the person I wish I had when I became a mom.
After successfully breastfeeding my oldest son I went on to work as a WIC Breastfeeding Peer Counselor for five years. I loved working with moms. I really felt I had found my calling in that role. But, I was hungry for more knowledge so I would be equipped to help in every struggling breastfeeding scenario.
During my time at WIC I took on 5 years of lactation education and training to be all that I could be as a lactation consultant. I ran breastfeeding support groups, taught prenatal breastfeeding classes, I worked in the hospital on the postpartum floor, I have over 1,500 clinical hours with breastfeeding moms, I supported both military and civilan communities for their breastfeeding needs.
Now here we are today. I am an Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC.) I am officially certified to help in every struggling breastfeeding scenario. I love to support, educate, and empower new moms. It truly brings me so much joy to see them succeed.
For local clients I offer home visits. I will come to your home and help you with all of your feeding concerns in the place you will feed baby most often - your home. This will remove all the stress of traveling with a new baby so we can focus more on your goals in your own environment.
I offer virtual telehealth visits for my clients who are not local. No matter where you live I can support you on your breastfeeding journey.
